2008 SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES:
JURIED SHOWCASES - $1,750 (or three sponsors at $650 each): The three showcases held at the conference speak to the "heart of the matter" as far as presenters, artists and management companies are concerned. They are an important, well attended, and favorite part of the event. This sponsorship option guarantees a listing in the official program, inclusion in our list of sponsors, up to two sponsor banners (sponsor provides) hung prominently on the stage during the elected showcase(s), and verbal mention of your sponsorship during the showcase(s) by the Master of Ceremonies.

KEYNOTE LUNCHEON / ADDRESS - $1,600: We aim for a dynamic, informative and engaging speaker who can deliver a conference high point.
OPTION TAKEN BY OPUS 3 ARTISTS

CONFERENCE TOTE BAGS - $1,500 OR TWO SPONSORS AT $800 EACH: The Northwest Booking Conference provides tote bags for conference attendees to put papers, samples and other items in, as they progress through the conference. This option includes both sponsors’ logos prominently on one side, and provides good and on-going visibility and name recognition for the sponsor both at the conference and later on.

OREGON BASH - $1,500 or multiple sponsors: $600 each: The Oregon Bash is a
regionally flavored party arranged by the locals. Eat, greet, dance, make merry, but don’t miss this “swinging and rocking” event that will be footloose and fancy-free. Great entertainment, – a party Oregon style! The Wednesday night event will take place at a downtown venue; a few minutes walk from the host hotel.
OPTION TAKEN BY EYE FOR TALENT/VAGABOND OPERA

THE OPENING RECEPTION—$1,500 or MULTIPLE sponsors at $300 each: This well attended event will be Monday of the conference. With the registration desk open and its complimentary food and no host bar the welcoming reception always attracts a crowd. The sponsor will be allowed a table for greeting the guests and handing out brochures and other information, as well as an opportunity to address the group.

AFTER HOURS SHOWCASES - $1,350 for one room for both days, or $700 per day per room: The NW Booking Conference offers multiple opportunities to performers who were not able to showcase formally due to lack of time, but whose quality was demonstrated, to showcase in the after hours portion of the event. This year, we have a great line up of artists who will perform on Monday and Tuesday evenings. Two After Hours showcases run simultaneously each night. Sponsors have their name attached at all times to their chosen showcase and can also provide MC services between showcases, as well as the opportunity to hang a banner, be included in the program and registration materials.

THE OFFICIAL CONFERENCE PROGRAM - $1,000 (or two sponsors at $600): The program will prominently display the program sponsor’s name and/or logo on the cover and be distributed to every conference attendee who will use it constantly thought the event. It is an integral part of the conference and is retained by many people as a reference source long after the conference is over. There is also the option to hang up to two banners (sponsor provides) prominently in the registration area. * #

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT INSTITUTES - $750 for the day: For years, the NW Booking Conference has delivered cutting edge knowledge, skills, leadership and vision through its professional development. Presenters, artists, agents and managers fill these sessions to learn the latest trends and ideas. These pre-conference, daylong and ½ day courses will be offered at the conference on the Monday of the conference. All of Arts Northwest's instructors work in the field and come highly recommended.

CYBER CAFÉ - $900 (OR 3 OPTIONS AT $375 EACH): The Cyber Café will allow attendees to check email and stay in touch with their organizations without leaving the conference site and your name can be attached to this popular option.

NEW COLLEAGUES / MENTORING SESSION - $700 or three sponsors at $300 each: This session is designed to orient first timers, get them acquainted with other conference attendees helping ensure that their first booking conference is effective and fun. First timers will have an opportunity to meet their "mentor" at this session learning how to get the most out of their conference experience.

BLOCK BOOKING MEETINGS - $600 for both: The Northwest Booking Conference is known for its well attended, effective block booking meetings. Two meetings occur during the conference. While the block booking meetings are attended by presenters only, the results are shared with everyone. This is an important tool for presenters and artists/management in booking a season and being booked.
OPTION TAKEN BY CMI ENTERTAINMENT

AFTER HOURS DESSERTS AND SWEET THINGS - $600 EACH DAY: Presenters, artists and agents all attend the after hours showcasing, which take place on two stages, on Monday and Tuesday evenings. Desserts are an additional and very powerful attraction, and guaranteed to bring the sponsor positive recognition and definite accolades! *

MINI NAME BADGE SCHEDULE INSERT - $500: This folded, name badge size “schedule at a glance” slides neatly into the name tag holder of all conference attendees. It will be used repeatedly as a quick reference guide to the daily conference schedule. Arts NW Summer newsletter - Can you contribute an article?

Dear Arts NW Members,

We are working on the next edition of the Arts NW Newsletter and as always, a portion of each one is retained for articles and comment from our membership that are relevant to the wider touring and presenting world. We ask that you do not suggest articles that are mostly self promotion, or do not have a wider focus.

Some suggestions for topics include but are not limited to:

1. Articles focusing on the concept of festivals as opposed to one off shows; their advantages and challenges. Reaching diverse audiences through a festival.

2. Articles on engaging diverse segments of your community. What has worked and what has not. Your thoughts and ideas to share

3. Technology – how you and / or your organization are using it, or not. To further your mission. Artists – are you making fruitful use of the latest in technological advances?

4. Articles focusing on the concept of Cultural Democracy

5. Articles on experiences with immigration / visas recently?

6. Articles focusing on topics that may be of interest to the general presenting and touring world in the west?

7. Other ideas you might have that would be of interest to a diverse membership.

All members are welcome to submit. Please email a suggested title and brief synopsis of what you propose (or send a finished article if you have it). Keep it to about 150-200 words. Pictures may be included too, space allowing. Pictures must be of print quality - 300 dpi or better.

Deadline is June 25th, 2007.

Visa/Immigration/Taxation Issues

Has anyone heard of a H2B visa form that can be used by Canadian performance
groups if they perform in a 50 mile radius (across boarders) to the US? I
have heard that the purchaser requests it and it does not cost the
performers the usual fee nor does it take the usual 90 days. Any advice
would be appreciated.

How does someone "get into the Arts gig?". Tips or insights? Resources or opportunities? Educational degrees & schools or work background required? Lessons from the SCHOOL OF HARD KNOCKS? How to post a comment on the Arts Northwest Blog

1) Find a posting you would like to respond to
2) Click on the "comments" link at the bottom right hand side of the posting. It will list the number of comments (for example: 3 comments)
3) You will see a listing of the comments on the left hand side and you will see an area to add a posting (a little text box). Add your comments and scroll to the bottom of that page.
4) Type in the word verification for security (just re-type the squiggly letters above)
5) Choose an identity. If you do not have a google or blogger account, do not worry. Choose "other" and add your name (web page is optional). If you do have a bloger or google account, feel free to use that OR the "other" with your name.
6) Once you click "publish your comment" it will be sent to a "holding area" so that Arts Northwest staff can moderate and post them to the web page for everyone to read.

Thanks again for your interest and support in trying out our new blog! We are excited about this new way of communicating and are continuing to learn along with you all.

Welcome to the new Arts Northwest blog! We are excited about this new space for members to communicate with each other about a variety of topics. At the office, we get inquiries on a weekly basis. Our hope is that members can respond to their colleagues questions directly through the blog.

Blog etiquette can be an important aspect of keeping a blog useful and focused. Please remember that this blog is strictly a professional one. Please be considerate and respectful when posting. No personal attacks. Furthermore, as a way to organize our conversations, we thought of a few topics including, education, arts administration, touring, booking, other. Please consider these topics when posting questions. If you have an idea for another topic that would be useful, please Email us and we will take it into consideration.

You can post questions or responses to the blog and you can also continue to send us questions via Email. As we become more comfortable with the blog, we will post appropriate questions we receive onto the blog or send it out to the list.

We are excited to introduce this new form of communication for Arts Northwest. If you have questions about using the blog, feel free to call or email us.
